Tailored support

Behaviour Support Coaching

For reactivity, fear, anxiety, separation-related behaviour and more complex behavioural concerns.

Every behaviour case starts with an Initial Consultation. After learning about your dog and your goals, Cam will recommend the most appropriate level of ongoing coaching.

Behaviour support is tailored to the individual dog rather than ending automatically after a predetermined number of sessions. We can continue working together towards the goals agreed for you and your dog. The duration and cost of ongoing coaching are discussed after your consultation.

Enquire About Behaviour Support

Support may include

  • Written training and behaviour plans
  • Relevant resources
  • Practical exercises
  • Follow-up coaching
  • WhatsApp support during working hours
  • Adjustments as your dog progresses
  • Collaboration with a veterinary professional where appropriate

Behaviour can sometimes be influenced by pain or an underlying medical issue. Where appropriate, you may be advised to speak to your vet before or alongside behaviour coaching.

Progress Training Walks — £35

These are not ordinary dog walks. Cam will collect your dog from home and complete a focused one-to-one training session without you present. This provides an opportunity to reinforce the exercises and goals already being developed through your coaching programme in real-life situations.

After each session you receive

  • An update on what was practised
  • Information about how your dog responded
  • Recommendations for continued practice at home

Progress Training Walks complement owner coaching — they don't replace your participation in the overall training process.

Why work with Cam?

Five things that make the difference

  • Training where it matters most

Rather than relying on a village hall or training centre, sessions take place in homes and relevant everyday environments. Training is practical, personal and designed around situations you actually encounter.

  • Your Trainer in Your Pocket

Support does not stop when a coaching session ends. Programme clients can contact Cam through WhatsApp during working hours, helping them stay on track between appointments.

  • Real-life results

The goal is not simply to teach a list of commands. Coaching focuses on useful changes such as calmer walks, more reliable recall, less chaos when visitors arrive and a more relaxed home life.

  • Coaching for both ends of the lead

Training is not only about the dog. Every session gives owners the knowledge and confidence to understand the process and continue making progress.

  • Modern, reward-based training

Cam uses kind, evidence-informed methods that prioritise dog welfare while supporting meaningful, lasting behaviour change.

FAQs

Training and behaviour questions

Training FAQs

Where do sessions take place?

In your home and the everyday environments where you actually need help — your street, your garden, the places you walk. Training is practical and built around real life rather than a village hall.

Do I need an Initial Consultation?

Yes. Every owner starts with a 90-minute Initial Consultation so Cam can understand your dog, your history, your lifestyle and your goals before recommending anything.

Is the consultation included in the Life Skills price?

The £245 Life Skills Programme price includes the Initial Consultation — it is the total for the programme, not an extra on top. If you book the programme within seven days of your consultation, the £70 consultation fee is deducted from the programme price.

What is reward-based training?

Kind, evidence-informed training that builds the behaviour you want by making it worthwhile for your dog, rather than relying on intimidation or punishment. It prioritises welfare while supporting lasting change.

Can you help with reactivity?

Yes. Reactivity is one of the areas covered by Behaviour Support Coaching. Every behaviour case starts with an Initial Consultation, after which Cam will recommend the most appropriate level of ongoing coaching.

Can you help with separation-related behaviour?

Yes — separation-related concerns are supported through tailored Behaviour Support Coaching rather than a fixed programme, as progress varies a great deal between dogs.

What is included in WhatsApp support?

Programme clients can message Cam during working hours with questions between sessions — 'Your Trainer in Your Pocket'. It's there to keep you on track, not to replace scheduled coaching.

Can the whole household attend?

Yes, and it usually helps. Everyone who lives with the dog benefits from hearing the same explanation and practising the same way.

What should I bring to a session?

Your dog's usual lead, harness or collar, and the treats or toys they like best. Cam will let you know if anything else would be useful before your session.

Will my dog's vet need to be involved?

Sometimes. Behaviour can be influenced by pain or an underlying medical issue, so where appropriate you may be advised to speak to your vet before or alongside behaviour coaching.

How many sessions will we need?

It varies. Some owners need only a single consultation; some benefit from one or two follow-ups; others are better suited to a structured programme or ongoing behaviour support. Cam will make a clear recommendation after your consultation.

Do you guarantee results?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Every dog is different, and recommendations are based on your dog's history, needs, environment and goals. What you will get is a clear plan, practical support and honest guidance.

What areas do you cover?

Soham, Fordham, Wicken, Burwell and the surrounding East Cambridgeshire area. If you're a little further out, send us your postcode and we'll let you know what's possible.

Get started

Tell Cam about your dog

Tell us a little about your dog and what you would like help with. Cam will recommend the most appropriate place to start.

Not sure which option is right? That's absolutely fine — tell Cam what is happening and he'll guide you.

Please don't include veterinary records or other sensitive documents here — we'll ask for anything we need separately.
