Privacy & Cookie Policy
Effective 2 September 2026 · Last updated 2 September 2026
Cam's Dog Club (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We're a dog walking, training and pet-care business based in Soham, Cambridgeshire. For anything to do with your data, email hello@camsdogclub.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address and message, plus anything optional you choose to add such as phone number, location or postcode, and your pet's name, type, age or breed.
- Client records: once you become a client, the information needed to care for your pet — health, behaviour, medication, vet and emergency contacts, access arrangements and booking history.
- Correspondence: emails, messages and notes from calls or meetings.
- Technical data: our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site secure and running, and provides basic aggregate visitor statistics (pages viewed, approximate country and device type) that do not identify you personally.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and discuss services — taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To provide, schedule and invoice the services you book — performance of our contract with you.
- To keep your pet safe, including contacting you or a vet in an emergency — our legitimate interests and, where relevant, protecting vital interests.
- To keep records for tax and accounting — our legal obligations.
- To keep the website secure and understand which pages are useful — our legitimate interests.
- We only send marketing with your consent, and we don't add enquiries to any mailing list.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with trusted providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to run the business:
- Website hosting and secure enquiry storage (Lovable, which uses Cloudflare and Supabase infrastructure).
- Email services used to deliver enquiry notifications and our replies.
- Accounting and invoicing software.
- Your vet or an emergency vet, if your pet needs treatment while in our care.
- Professional advisers, insurers or authorities where we're legally required to.
Some providers store data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months of our last contact.
- Client records: kept while you use our services and for up to 6 years afterwards, in line with limitation periods and tax record-keeping rules.
- Website server logs: retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period for security purposes.
Security
Enquiries submitted through this website are sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a secure database that only authorised members of the team can access. Keys we hold for clients are stored securely without identifying address details.
Your rights
You have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. Email hello@camsdogclub.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We don't make automated decisions about you, and our services and website are not directed at children under 16.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses no advertising or marketing cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. The items stored in your browser are:
- cdc-cookie-consent (local storage, kept until you clear it): remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner so we don't ask again.
- Hosting security and performance cookies set by Cloudflare where needed (for example __cf_bm, up to 30 minutes) to protect the site from automated abuse. These are strictly necessary.
- session-id (first-party cookie, expires after 30 minutes of inactivity): set by our hosting platform's built-in visitor statistics to group page views from one visit. It contains a random identifier only, is not shared with advertisers and is not used to track you across other websites.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers; Google may record your IP address for that request. You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if how we use your information changes, and update the dates at the top when we do.
